Thanksgiving Pie at Papaw Tynas!

It's tradition for Bug to go to Papaw Tyna's house for Thanksgiving. She was so excited to go and talked about it the whole week before. She was most excited about Thanksgiving dinner. This year she had certain requirements of what the dinner was suppossed to be. One of those requirements was pumpkin pie. Right when dinner was all served Bug asked, "Well where's the PIE!?!" Everyone reassured her we would have pie after dinner. When Uncle Pat was the first one finished, he got up from the table and Bug questioned the pie again. She asked, "well aren't you gonna have some pie?". He replied," I don't like pie.". She was astonished and went on again " You don't like pie? Who doesn't like pie!?!". Bug ate up her turkey with ketchup and sweet potato casserole which she really liked. Then she was on again about the pie. Finally, she got her pumpkin pie. It took about 20 minutes for her to eat her dinner and 30 seconds to eat her pie. She sure does love pie!!

Bug took a quick family trip to see Papaw Tyna in Michigan. Her Papaw spoils her with ice cream and all sorts of fun things. She is his "Matey" and they love playing pirates together. They even have a new secret handshake. Bug spent most of her time in the pool and riding her bike on the nice sidewalk (a luxury for some of us!). She thought it was so neat to ride through the sprinkler on her bike! Before she knew it, it was time to go home and a long drive to go with it.

Mommy & Daddy surprised Bug after school on Thursday all packed up and ready to go for a visit at Papaw Tyna's house in Michigan. After the long drive, Bug was so happy to be there. During the visit Bug kept Papaw Tyna very busy playing pirates and much more. Mommy and Bug visited several of Mommy's favorite parks. The whole family also took a regular trip on the People Mover. Bug was excited that we rode on a pink one which is her favorite color. When it was time to go back home she cried because she wanted to stay. She can't wait for the summer week vacation at Papaw's house!

Thanksgiving weekend with Papaw Tyna

Thanksgiving Day we all woke up and watched the Thanksgiving day parade on TV. Daddy went to the Thanksgiving Day game at Ford field while everyone back at the house helped with dinner. Hailey was the first at the table and ready to eat turkey, but then two bites later she was done! Hailey enjoyed being spoiled by her Papaw Tyna who gives her anything her little heart desires.


During our visit Hailey went ice skating for the first time. She thought it was so new and exciting but became frustrated and just wanted Mommy to skate her around on the ice. We also got to see Polar Express 3D on the IMAX. It is an awesome experience! It was adorable to see Hailey try to catch the golden ticket.
